The Cadillac Optiq brings together modern electric driving, premium comfort and eye-catching design. But a newly announced safety recall has placed 29,347 vehicles under attention after General Motors identified a problem with the front power-window safety system.
The recall covers certain 2025–2027 model-year Optiq SUVs in the United States. The issue involves the windows’ anti-pinch function, which may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse when the express-up feature is activated using the key fob. The repair is a software update, offered free of charge.
What Is the Cadillac Optiq Power Window Recall?
Why are 29,347 vehicles affected?
The window system is designed to stop and move back down if it encounters an obstruction while closing. In affected vehicles, the front windows may not consistently perform this safety function during remote express-up operation.
That creates a potential pinching injury risk, particularly for children or anyone whose hand or body is in the window’s path. GM’s investigation followed a dealer observation and testing in which four of five vehicles did not consistently meet the required stop-and-reverse behavior.
How Will Cadillac Fix the Problem?
Free software update
General Motors will update the front door window software calibration in the body control module. Eligible vehicles may receive the repair through an over-the-air update or at a Cadillac dealership, at no cost.
The recall campaign number is N262567230, and the NHTSA recall number is 26V612. Owner notification letters are expected from November 9, 2026. Owners can check their vehicle identification number through the NHTSA recall lookup or contact Cadillac customer service.

A Premium EV With a Safety Reminder
The Optiq’s electric platform and premium design remain central to its appeal, but this recall is a reminder that even advanced vehicles need careful attention to everyday safety systems. Owners should check their VIN and arrange the free software update when available.
For prospective buyers, the recall does not mean every Optiq has the same condition; recall eligibility is determined by the vehicle identification number.
