The future of luxury driving is getting closer to Indian roads. Mercedes-Benz is preparing to introduce its all-electric GLC SUV in India on November 4, 2026, bringing together premium comfort, advanced technology and impressive electric performance. With local assembly planned at the company’s Chakan facility in Pune, the new GLC Electric is set to become an important addition to the brand’s growing electric vehicle portfolio.
The upcoming SUV will initially arrive in the GLC 400 4MATIC configuration, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 715km. For buyers who want a luxury SUV without petrol or diesel, this electric newcomer promises an exciting alternative.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric: Expected Price in India
Mercedes-Benz has not officially announced the India price yet. However, the electric SUV is expected to sit in the premium luxury segment, with an estimated starting price of ₹80 lakh to ₹90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The GLC Electric will be locally assembled in Pune, which may help the brand position it differently from fully imported luxury EVs. Bookings are expected to begin in October 2026.

A Powerful Electric SUV With Impressive Range
Dual motors deliver thrilling performance
The GLC 400 4MATIC is equipped with a 94kWh battery pack and two electric motors, one on each axle. Together, they produce approximately 489bhp and 800Nm of torque.
This powerful setup allows the luxury SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in a claimed 4.3 seconds. Mercedes-Benz also quotes a top speed of 210km/h, giving the electric GLC performance figures that match its premium character.
Fast charging for long journeys
The SUV supports DC fast charging at up to 330kW. Mercedes-Benz claims that the battery can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in around 22 minutes under suitable conditions. The company also quotes up to 305km of WLTP range added in 10 minutes of charging. Actual charging times depend on charger capability, battery temperature and conditions.
Premium Cabin With a 39.1-Inch Hyperscreen
Inside, the GLC Electric brings a technology-focused cabin designed to make every journey feel special. Its standout feature is the enormous 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which combines the digital instrument display, central infotainment screen and front passenger display into one integrated panel.
The SUV also retains physical controls for selected functions, offering a balance between modern digital technology and familiar convenience. With a five-seat layout, a 570-litre boot and additional front storage, it aims to deliver everyday practicality alongside luxury.
Bigger Dimensions and Advanced Technology
The electric GLC measures 4,845mm in length and has a 2,972mm wheelbase, giving it more room between the axles than the combustion-engine GLC. The rear seats can fold to expand luggage capacity to 1,740 litres, while the front luggage compartment offers another 128 litres.
Depending on the final Indian specification, features may include rear-axle steering, air suspension, advanced driver assistance systems and DIGITAL LIGHT technology.
What to Expect From the India Launch
The Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric is expected to appeal to buyers seeking a luxury SUV with long-distance electric capability, rapid acceleration and a highly digital interior. Its November 4 launch will reveal the final India pricing, variant equipment and ownership details.
With local assembly, a claimed 715km WLTP range and a premium cabin, the GLC Electric is preparing to bring a new chapter of electric luxury to India.
